You don't need a developer, a payment gateway or a big budget to start selling online in India. You need a store link your customers can open, an easy way for them to order, and a way to get paid. This guide walks through each step on Storzu, a free online store with UPI and WhatsApp orders, in the order you'll actually do them.
1. Sign up
Sign up on Storzu with Google or your email address. There is no credit card and no trial countdown. Your store gets its own link straight away — a new store starts on a free store-xxxxxx.storzu.com address, and you can move to your shop's own name or your own domain later without losing the old link.
2. Verify your mobile number
Enter your mobile number and the one-time code sent to it. Your products go live only after the store owner's number is verified. It is also where your sign-in codes and the order alerts you switch on arrive.
3. Add your products from phone photos
For each product, add a photo, a name and a price. Clothes and shoes can carry sizes and colours; food can carry pack sizes. Phone photos are fine: Storzu's AI can clean up the background and lighting and write the description for you (see AI product photos). Start with your ten best sellers instead of waiting until everything is photographed — a live store with ten products sells more than a perfect one that never goes up.
4. Pick a design
Open a live demo store at storzu.com/demo and tap Use this design, or tap a style in Design Store to see your own products in it before you apply. Undo brings the old style back. The store designs guide shows each one.
5. Switch on WhatsApp orders and your UPI
Add your WhatsApp number and your UPI ID. Customers can tap Order on WhatsApp, which opens a chat already filled in with the product, quantity and price, or check out on the store itself. Either way the order also lands in your dashboard.
Payment goes straight from the customer's UPI app into your bank account, or you collect cash on delivery. Storzu takes no commission on any order. The UPI payments guide explains how customers pay and how you confirm a payment, and the WhatsApp selling guide covers handling orders in chat.
6. Share your store link
- Post it on your WhatsApp status and pin it in your WhatsApp Business profile.
- Put it in your Instagram and Facebook bio.
- Print the store QR code on visiting cards, bills, packaging and your shop counter.
- Send it to your regular customers with a short note and your best three products.
Customers can add your store to their phone's home screen and open it like an app, so repeat orders are one tap away. Your storefront also speaks English and 8 Indian languages.
7. Deliver your orders
Deliver nearby orders yourself, or let customers collect them with local pickup. When you grow, book a same-day rider or a Shiprocket or NimbusPost courier straight from the order. Delivery is charged to your own Shiprocket, NimbusPost or Borzo account; Storzu takes no cut.
What it costs
Storzu's Free forever plan is ₹0 — list up to 10 products, take 100 orders per month with COD or direct UPI, and pay no per-order commission. You never need a credit card to start. When you want more products, a named address, your own domain or online card payments, every plan is laid out on the pricing page.
After your first orders
- Run offers, coupons and loyalty points to bring customers back.
- Ask happy customers for a review after their order arrives.
- Add the rest of your catalogue, one category at a time.
